At Portland Behavioral Therapy (PBT), Dr. Elyse Conterno provides therapy for individual adults and children ages 10 and older. In general, her work with children and teens includes parental involvement, both with and without your child, which she will discuss and plan after your initial assessment. Dr. Conterno’s specialty is treating anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and specific phobias. Additionally, she treat some forms of depressive disorders and can help people dealing with situational stressors and life transitions, sometimes labeled as an adjustment disorder. Some behavioral therapy takes place “in the field,” which means we may leave the office to find ways to practice new skills in real situations – a key component of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).
Fees
Intake Assessment – $250 Therapy begins with a 60-minute intake assessment during which Dr. Conterno will learn more about you and why you are seeking support. She will also discuss her approach, and determine if she is the best person to help you.
Follow Up Session – $195 Follow up sessions are 50 minutes. During the first few sessions, you will collaborate on a treatment plan so Dr. Conterno can create a road map that will help you reach your goals. Those initial sessions will also include psychoeducation where she will help you understand your mental health and diagnosis so you feel equipped and empowered to effectively face difficulties as they come.
Community/In-Home Services – $250 At times it may be beneficial for you to meet with Dr. Conterno outside the office, whether it’s in your home or in a particular environment where you experience the most struggle. These sessions are roughly 45 minutes depending on travel time or may be billed at 15-minute increments if more time is needed.
Dr. Conterno is not currently accepting insurance, which allows her to be flexible with how and where she provides treatment. Many insurance companies will reimburse you directly for seeing Dr. Conterno as an “out-of-network provider,” and PBT is happy to provide you with the necessary documentation (generally in the form of a superbill).
